The Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture is the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history, and culture. The NMAAHC is a public institution open to all, where anyone is welcome to participate, collaborate, and learn more about African American history and culture.
The NMAAHC partnered with us to re-brand and redesign their quarterly newsletter, Curated for Community, an eight-page informative newsletter that’s distributed both online and print to showcase the museum’s recent news, events, and exhibits. They wanted a modern, clean, and inviting design that worked cohesively with their updated logo and branding while showcasing their news and information in an easy to read and navigate format.
To start, we designed three custom newsletter concepts for NMAAHC to choose from using their updated logo, brand colors, and fonts. Once a concept was selected, we took their content and designed each page individually, implementing key design elements from their brand and creating informative, custom info-graphics to highlight key information.
Elxel does great work, very responsive and accommodating. The communication is consistent and their team is knowledgeable and helpful. They designed a newsletter for our unit within Smithsonian NMAAHC, excellent job.”
